Healing Through Weaving

For Mothers

Expression and self compassion are integral parts to healing from a traumatic birth or challenging postpartum experience. Frame loom weaving is a simple, sacred, and satisfying craft allowing for both meditation and expression while creating something beautiful.

Using this ancient craft, we will create new meaning from cloth and fabric connected to a challenging birth or postpartum experience. After learning just a handful of basic skills we will prepare fabric you bring to make it ready for weaving. You might bring clothing, swaddle, receiving or NICU blankets, wash cloths or any fabric connected to a birth and early days with a baby**. Extra fabric, yarn, and all other materials will be provided (looms available during the class or take home with a separate purchase). Once we begin weaving, there will be time for sharing, reflecting, and processing birth and postpartum experiences in a confidential space. You will leave with a finished one of a kind wall hanging to bring home.
